Midway Recovery Supply Drive 2023

Griffin Daybreak also presented essential hygiene items that were collected from members from August to September as a donation to Midway Recovery Center. Midway Recovery Center is a private, non-profit organization in Griffin which offers a 90-day intensive residential recovery program providing professional care to treat alcohol and drug addiction for males 21 and older.Public Relations Coordinator for Midway Recovery Systems served as a speaker and presented a club program in early August regarding the center's residential recovery program. After her visit, Griffin Daybreak voted to collect items in support of the efforts. The coordinator came to pick up the contributions and said the project would help the recovery center financially and it would allow additional supplies to be offered to the residents that are not typically in the program's budget. She said that a person's self-esteem can be improved when basic hygiene supplies are provided for their self-care and overall well-being/mental health.The coordinator said the supplies will help stretch their existing inventory and save them from purchasing some items, which was a budget savings. Supplies were donated in August and September with contributions to the organization both months.
